Bonfire Night

by

This time of year is one of my favourites. Halloween, Bonfire Night, my birthday and then Christmas all within the space of a few months. It’s always an exciting time. This year was actually Clems 3rd bonfire night. However it was the first one she has actually been interested in and will remember. The first year she was 3 months old and slept through it. Last year she was interested but scared by the loud bangs of the fireworks. This year she’s been getting excited every time she hears one go off.

Our town puts on a big display every year in the local park. We happen to live right by it so we are cheeky and don’t pay the £6 entrance fee each. We usually just stand on our balcony and watch. This year we actually went to a friend’s house for a BBQ and watch them. And he just so happens to live overlooking the park, so a perfect viewing spot.

To make sure that Clem wasn’t scared by the loud noises of the fireworks we were given a pair of Peltor Kids Ear Muffs from 3M to test. They definitely did the job! She loved it. There were no tears or screaming this year, she watched the whole display with a massive grin on her face. Clem didn’t complain about them, and she didn’t try to take them off at any point. So I’m guessing that they were comfy. I was really impressed by them, and would definitely recommend them.

Remember, remember the 5th of November

The display just seemed to go on and on! Luckily the weather was great, although absolutely freezing! Winter definitely seems to have arrived. Luckily we were all wrapped up warm. Did anyone else go to a display? Or did you have your own in the garden? We were sent the ear muffs to review but all words and views are my own.

  1. the ear muffs looks great. Think I need to get some of these as my daughter didn’t like the loud bangs #MarvMondays

  2. The ear muffs are a great idea! There was an organised display at the back of our house as we back onto fields. We loved watching it through the window but I think had we been outside ear muffs for my eldest would have been a must!

  3. what gorgeous photos, it looks like a lovely evening. I must write up our night too, it was bitterly cold with us too! #MarvMondays

  4. I’ve never heard of bonfire night but I’m in the US. We do that kind of thing on the 4th of July though which is awesome. We got headphones for our kids for when we go to loud events. I can’t tell you how much they’ve not only made the night more pleasant because they don’t get scared, but I know in the future my kids won’t have as much of hearing loss later in life. #MarvMondays

  5. What beautiful photos! The ear muffs are a great idea. Our local display was cancelled was because of high winds but there were still loads of random fireworks going off around us which Matilda quite enjoyed watching from the comfort of our living room!

  6. Oh wow, these look great! I was actually wishing we had something like these for our little one when we went this year. I forgot how loud fireworks were! It looks like you all had a lovely night, I cant believe you had a BBQ at this time of year 😉 Thanks for sharing this on #MarvMondays. Lovely pictures. Emily
