Borough Market and Southbank London

by

Last weekend we hopped on a train and headed into London to do a bit of exploring. After being ill for most of the week and not leaving the house for 4 days it was nice to get out. The weather was lovely so we decided to walk along the Southbank and River Thames to Borough Market. The plan was to get some yummy food for lunch and ingredients for a dinner. When we got to Borough Market it was peak lunchtime and crazy busy. Not ideal with a pushchair but we picked a great stall to get a really yummy veggie curry from. I also got a fresh berry smoothie which was really good. The perfect drink after being ill.

Jess works right by Borough Market so quite often goes here for his lunch, one of the places he is always telling me about is Bread Ahead. They do probably the best doughnuts I’ve ever had. We bought a chocolate one and a salted caramel and honeycomb one and they were both amazing! We also bought a small sourdough loaf from them which was massive! We also walked past the bakery where you can learn to bake which seems like a really fun way to spend a day.

Afterwards we walked back towards Waterloo along the river as well, Clem really enjoyed everything that was going on. There was a man down on the shore of the river playing a keyboard, another man producing the biggest bubbles I’ve ever seen outside of the tate modern. I really love going to London and being a tourist. There are so many places to go and see I can’t wait to take Clem to more things. I remember when I was little I used to get so excited about going and seeing new places. I think the next place we are going to is either the Natural History Museum/Science Museum or London Zoo, depending on the weather. Do you have a favourite place to visit in London?
