I can only draw worms – Book review

by

As most parents will know, reading is a very important part of having children. We read with Clem every single day. So we are constantly on the look out for new and interesting books. Recently we were lucky enough to receive a copy of Will Mabbitts new book – I can only draw worms. For those of you not already familiar with Wills work he has previously written  The Unlikely Adventures of Mabel Jones and Mabel Jones and the Forbidden City, with another one due out soon. Now he has ventured into the world of drawing as well as writing. But he can only draw worms, which is perfect for a book all about them!

Now I don’t want to give too much away about the book itself but I can say it’s hilarious. We were both laughing as we read it with Clem. She enjoyed counting along with the worms, and the bright colours. Seriously, some of the pages are so bright you should probably wear sunglasses for them! It will appeal to both adults and kids, which is definitely what we look for in a book. If you have a child anything like Clem you probably end up reading the same books over and over again so you need something to keep you interested.

If you are lucky enough to live anywhere near Lewes in East Sussex, then I happen to know that at 11am on Saturday 4th February you can find Will reading and drawing worms at Bags of Books bookshop. I can only draw worms is out now in paperback for £6.99.
