Winter walk along Brighton Pier and Beach

by

During Summer the pier and seafront can get so busy you can barely move. So I took the opportunity of a sunny, but cold, Winters day to go for a walk and take some photos. Apart from a few tourists and the seagulls the pier was almost empty. I even spotted a brave sea swimmer

I recently changed my phone to a Pixel 3 instead of an iPhone 7 and this was probably my first chance to really try it out. The camera was one of my main reasons for switching and I am really glad I did. All of the photos on this post were taken on my phone. The pier is obviously the ultimate tourist attraction but there is something about it that I really like. It’s probably because we only moved to the area just over 2 years ago. I’m sure if I grew up in Brighton I would feel different.

Clem also likes going on the pier, although I think for different reasons to me. She loves the arcades, getting ice cream or chips and the soft play which is at the end. I like it as it reminds me of going to the funfair when I was younger. The sounds, the sights and the smells instantly take me back. I also used to love going the arcades when I was little. As I walked back along the front towards Hove it was busier along there.

I absolutely love the splashes of colour that Lois O’Hara has added along the front by the i360. So even on a grey day theres always something to smile about as you walk along. As I got to the West Pier I noticed a group of surfers on the right hand side. The waves weren’t particularly big but they still managed to catch a few.

If you live in Brighton do you have a favourite spot for a walk?
