An evening with Fizzbox

by

Last Wednesday evening I was invited by Fizzbox to try a couple of the activities they have on offer in Brighton. Fizzbox aren’t a company I was familiar with before, but now I am I think it’s such a good idea. Fizzbox is a group booking platform that makes organising experiences and activities enjoyable and easy. They offer activities, experiences and things to do in lots of different cities around the UK and Europe. You can pick from afternoon tea, cocktail making, escape rooms or even quidditch!

During the evening we were treated to two activities. Afternoon tea on a regency routemaster bus and a cocktail masterclass at Las Iguanas. Upon arrival at the bus we were greeted with prosecco and shown to our seats. I was right at the front! It felt a bit like I was driving, but it meant that I had really good views of everything. The bus takes in all the sights of Brighton and beyond. We started off near the Pier, before heading along the seafront past the i360 towards Hove. We then headed up the Drive to Seven Dials and Brighton Station. Afternoon tea is served as you travel around, which I thought might be a bit tricky. However they have handy cup holders for your tea, which is served in reusable cups, and non slip mats for the plates and platters.

We headed out-of-town along the coast towards the marina, Rottingdean and Saltdean, before heading back to our start by the pier. Unfortunately we took the tour at night. This meant that we didn’t get to see the fantastic coastline as we travelled along. On a sunny afternoon it would be amazing. The routemaster was beautiful decorated and restored, and the staff were welcoming and very informative. Along the route they tell you about the history of the area. The food was very yummy, the mini quiches which weren’t listed on the menu were a nice surprise. Usually I am not a fan of pistachio or rose but I actually think the mini cake was my favourite of the sweet treats.

After the bus we all headed over to Las Iguanas for the second part of the evening, a cocktail masterclass. Upon arrival we were offered either a cocktail, glass of bubbles or mocktail for those not drinking. During the class you get to make two different cocktails, and enjoy some tapas. I got to make a raspberry mojito which was really nice. I’m not usually a rum drinker but the raspberry managed to hide the taste. I also think I managed to spill a lot of the rum that was meant to go in my drink. High bars and being short isn’t a great combination! The other drink you got to make was a pina colada but unfortunately I had to leave before this and the food arrived.

Overall I was really impressed by both experiences, and after looking at the fizzbox website I would definitely book with them. They offer something for everyone and at different budgets. If you were looking for something to do with friends, family or a couple you could definitely find it on there.

I was invited by Fizzbox for the purpose of this post however all views are my own.
